Sharon Lutz joined CommUnify’s Board of Directors in 2018 and is currently the Vice President for Quality Support Services at Cottage Health. Dr. Lutz also serves on CommUnify’s Planning Committee which oversees the Strategic planning process for the agency. At Cottage Health, she oversees Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Infection Control, Spiritual Care, Interpreter Services, Case Management and Social Services functions. Dr. Lutz is accountable for leading patient safety and clinical quality improvement initiatives across Cottage Health.

Previously Dr. Lutz was the Director of Quality Management at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Improvement Advisor for the Institute of Healthcare Improvement in Boston Massachusetts. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saint Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Dr. Lutz was formerly on the Board of the National Charity League of Santa Ynez Valley. She obtained her Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Statistics from Iowa State University and her Bachelors degree in Mathematics from St. Olaf College, Minnesota. Dr. Lutz lives with her husband in Buellton and is the proud mother to two adult daughters.
